Entertainment

Each Viking river and ocean voyage offers exceptional cultural and enrichment programs onboard, designed to enhance your onshore experience. You will also find a variety of ship-specific enrichment offers across the ocean and river fleet, from the expertly-curated onboard Libraries, to an onboard cooking school.

During a Viking expedition, destination enrichment is the primary focus, rather than dazzling entertainment. These same scientists also provide lectures, advice, and insights in various fields such as biology, botany, geology, glaciology, oceanography, and ornithology. Furthermore, the stunning panoramic auditorium, The Aula, hosts lectures, daily briefings, and film screenings on a retractable panoramic screen, revealing breathtaking floor-to-ceiling windows offering 270° views.

Insider Tip

Ocean cruisers won’t want to miss out on the Torshavn Lounge and Bar (Piano Bar). Named after the capital of the Faroe Islands, this vibrant music venue is reminiscent of the enchanting jazz lounges of 194s Hollywood. In this intimate and cosy club setting, you can savour a range of rare vintage Armagnacs from 1935 through 1965. These outstanding and limited-quantity brandies originate from France’s beautiful Armagnac region in Gascony. If you appreciate the rich flavors of brandy, this is an absolute must-try during your sailing adventure.

What is My Viking Journey?

This is a website designed exclusively for guests who have booked a cruise with Viking. Using your Viking booking number you can create an online account to manage and customise your journey. You can browse and book shore excursions, access and print visa applications and travel itineraries, manage your daily schedule and so much more.

For expedition cruises, what does a “flexible itinerary” mean?

Due to the nature of the cruise and the natural environment you find yourself in, “flexible itinerary” means that the exact timing, landing locations and shore excursions of your itinerary may vary day to day depending on the weather and possible wildlife sightings.

What is the dress code onboard?

During the day, feel free to dress casually, incluing shorts, slacks or jeans. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for walking tours. Swimsuits, cover-ups and exercise attire should be reserved for specific locations such as the Fitness Centre, pool areas and Sports Deck (if you have one onboard your ship). There are no “formal nights” in the evenings, but Viking does have an “elegant casual” dress code for all dining venues (except the World Cafe where casual dress is acceptable), performances and special events.
